Public Speaking

I have had the pleasure of being a guest speaker, panelist and moderator at universities, architectural firms, commercial real estate firms, industry events and on radio.

Volunteer/Mentor

Some of my most satisfying work has come from volunteering at NEW (non-traditional employment for women) teaching disadvantaged women in the program about LEED and green construction practices. We all benefit tremendously from interacting with diverse audiences. I am also a mentor helping students preparing for the LC exam (Lighting Certified through the IES, National Council for the Qualification of Lighting Professionals) exam.

I look forward to working with you!

Overview

Thank you for visiting contractsalespro.com. Over the past 27 years I have enjoyed working with literally thousands of architects, interior designers, engineers, lighting designers, contractors and end user clients. I have learned the business from the vendor side and from the client's perspective. With best practices on product, services and educational  presentations, networking and lead generation, developing and maintaining client relationships, I offer workshops and consulting services to those looking to sell products or services to the design and construction industry, or end users directly.

Energy Surveys/Audits

I have audited public and private schools and commercial office buildings, but I can do virtually any facility. I will help you with your decision to replace the entire light fixture or just the lamps (bulbs). I will prepare an RFP for you to send to electrical wholesalers so you will be confident you will get a competitive bid and have a clear understanding of the services they will provide.

Test Prep

In April of 2008 I took and passed the LEED 2.2 for New Construction exam on the first try, As so many were trying to obtain their LEED AP accreditation (before the program changed to 3.0) and not aways succeeding, I offered to help by offering a "natural learning" study workshop to the design community. It was so successful that I ended up teaching a monthly class at the NYC Herman Miller showroom and many classes in architectural and commercial real estate firms directly. Within a year, I had helped over 500 professionals pass the various LEED exams.

In 2011 I took and passed the LC (Lighting Certified) exam which was also a very challenging test. My unique and effective study methods got me through it once again. These techniques will work for most exams that require a lot of memorization. Workshops can be requested through this site.

Owner's Advocate

Lighting is typically one of largest expenses in a commercial interior buildout, just behind furniture and carpet. Because of the cumbersome procurement process and the many layers of people involved, it often causes delays in the project schedule, costing the client time and money. I offer a pre-bid, independent review of the lighting fixture schedule, procurement guidance, help with expediting, a walk through after the installation but prior to the project completion and punch list.
